Our Legacy
Our business is defined through the foundation that my father, Vincent P. Ferrucci established and his vision for where the time-honored artistry of tailoring fine men’s clothing would take us.
Dad was born in Gioia Sannitica, Italy. He studied tailoring for four years beginning at the tender age of 13, moving to Rome to complete his apprenticeship at 16. At age 20, he emigrated to Maracaibo, Venezuela, working with a Venezuelan tailor for two years before opening his own shop. Arriving in the United States in 1958 as a tourist, Dad never left—marrying a year later and raising a family. After working for a series of custom clothiers Dad opened his own custom tailoring business in 1963 in the Westville section of New Haven, CT. Moving twice to accommodate his growing business, Ferrucci Fine Men’s Clothiers is now located in a historic building in the heart of downtown New Haven.
A four-time recipient of The Custom Tailors and Designers of America’s Blue Ribbon Award, Dad exemplified the tradition that has made Italian clothing design and fabrics world renowned.
Our Vision
Since joining the family business in 1989, I’ve sought to honor Dad’s vision while embracing the future—as clothing styles and tastes continually evolve. In addition to our continuing heritage of offering the finest custom suits, sports jackets, shirts and more, we also carry an ever expanding range of ready-to-wear dress, casual and active lifestyle clothing and accessories.
Come visit us soon to see, feel, and try our clothes on—find out why our loyal customers from throughout Connecticut and beyond keep coming back for more.
